The Hunter Foundation is a non–profit organization founded by NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin and his wife Sandy. The mission of the foundation is to provide educational and community programs to empower underserved youth to reach their potential and become productive, healthy and responsible citizens. The foundation‘s core programs focus on health and wellness, education, leadership and character development, and community service. Through its programs and partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other charitable foundations, the Hunter Foundation is working to create positive and lasting change in the lives of youth.
The foundation‘s health and wellness programs promote nutrition and physical activity among youth. Through its education programs, the foundation provides financial literacy training, test preparation, and college preparation support. Its leadership and character development programs teach youth the importance of setting goals, making sound decisions, and becoming active members of the community. The foundation‘s community service initiatives provide youth with the opportunity to learn about local and global issues, and to take action to make a difference in their communities. In addition to its core programs, the Hunter Foundation also participates in outreach initiatives in local communities. These initiatives include mentoring, sports clinics and camps, health fairs, and community service projects. The foundation also hosts annual events such as the Michael Irvin Football Camp and the Sandy Irvin Women in Leadership Summit.
Through these initiatives, the Hunter Foundation works to bridge the gap between underserved youth and the resources needed to help them reach their full potential.
